About Our Ministry
Our Mission
To see both word and deed, evangelism and mercy, as a means to the single end of the spread of the Kingdom of God.
The Ministry of mercy is not just a means to the end of evangelism, word and deed are equally necessary. The Inner City Outreach Ministry strives to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the families in the Inner City of Hamilton.
Is Ministry of Mercy scriptural?
There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land. Deuteronomy 15:11
Our History
Thirty years ago the ministry began with a boys basketball club. The first night we had three leaders and three boys. Today we have over 300 young people & adults registered in a variety of weekly programs and with approximately 40 volunteers.
The wide variety of programs range from recreational activities to craft nights, bible studies to family dinners. We have programs for children ages 6 to 24. Over the years more than 2,500 children have enrolled in the programs.
We need your help!
We have many needs within the Ministry. We urgently need more leaders and helpers for our weekly children’s programs, drivers for our various outings and camp. We are looking for worship bands, guitars, piano, singers, soloists etc. to take part in our Monday night Youth Service. We have financial needs to provide Bibles, devotionals, crafts, sports equipment and snacks. We accept donations of furniture, food (such as sandwiches and cookies for the kids’ groups). Most importantly, we ask that your group or church commit to PRAYER. Please pray for the neighbourhood and pray for the programs. Ask God to bless this work and lead the children and their families to Jesus.
